The GILZA (Polydioxanone-PDO) is a synthetic absorbable monofilament surgical suture material prepared from polyester poly (dioxanone).
Type of thread
Monofilament
Reabsorption time
Reliable absorbability by hydrolysis.
Predictable absorption (loss of mass) and high in vivo strength retention.

Average 75% of the original tensile strength at 2 weeks.
Average 70% of the original tensile strength at 4 weeks.
Average 50% of the original tensile strength at 6 weeks.
USP4/0 (EP Metric 1.5) and smaller size
Average 60% of the original tensile strength at 2 weeks.
Average 50% of the original tensile strength at 4 weeks.
Average 50% of the original tensile strength at 6 weeks.
Predictable absorption (loss of mass) in 180 to 220 days.
